The Tec9 is a fully automatic pistol in Population: One. It fires 17 bullets a second, the highest rate of any gun, does 25 damage a bullet and holds 12 rounds.
What the stars change on the Tec9
Damage grows with the stars: 25 damage a bullet at one star, 29 at five, and 30 to 40 on a headshot.
The magazine holds 12 rounds at every star.
A star changes nothing else: not the reload, not the range or the falloff, not the aim down the sights.
How the Tec9 fires
Hold the trigger and it fires 17 rounds a second until the magazine is empty: 0.7 s of fire at one star.
Reloading is done by hand: the magazine to the well, then the rack. Nothing in the game times a reload.
Playing the Tec9
At that rate a full magazine lasts under a second. Full damage ends at 12 m, the shortest of the pistols.
Shots to down with the Tec9
A player has 100 health and up to 100 shield. On health alone the Tec9 downs in 4 body shots or 4 headshots. Through a full shield it takes 8 body shots in about 0.4 s or 7 headshots in about 0.4 s, if everything lands.
At five stars: 4 body shots or 3 headshots on health alone, 7 body shots in about 0.4 s or 5 headshots in about 0.2 s through a full shield.
Where the Tec9 stops hitting hard
Full damage out to 12 m. Past that a bullet does 18 damage and falls to 12 over the next 20 m, then stays at 12 out to the Tec9's 120 m range.
A bullet travels at 450 m/s, so a target moving sideways at distance has to be led.
Tec9 or .357 Magnum, 1911 and PX4
The .357 Magnum does 63 damage a bullet, up to 3 bullets a second. The 1911 does 44 damage a bullet, up to 5 bullets a second. The PX4 does 30 damage a bullet, up to 7 bullets a second.
