The Zone Grenade is a thrown area-damage grenade in Population: One. It sticks where it lands and, after 3 s, damages everyone inside its zone every half second for ten seconds.
What the Zone Grenade does in Population: One
The Zone Grenade sticks where it first lands and goes off 3 s later. Then, every 0.5 s for 10 s, it hits everyone within reach, and the reach shrinks from 15 m in every direction to nothing: 5 damage a tick, 20 ticks, 100 damage in all to a player who stays in it to the end. That is a whole 100 of health, or a full shield, on its own.
A shield absorbs it like any blast, and walls and cover do not block it: there is no line of sight to break. Where two zones overlap, both tick.
It also hurts the player who threw it, at the same distances.
A backpack slot holds 1.
Playing the Zone Grenade
Each tick does 5 damage, and the zone shrinks from 15 m to nothing over the ten seconds. Walls do not block it, and a shield absorbs it like any blast.
